Join the Team - Hiring for Program Design Lead

The Hawaiʻi Workforce Funders Collaborative is looking for a candidate with experience convening stakeholders and managing projects in the non-profit, social impact, and/or philanthropic space. This position is a grant-funded, term-limited opportunity to implement an exciting new pilot initiative – the Hawaiʻi Worker Equity Lab. While funding for this position is only guaranteed through December 2024 (15 months), it is our intention that the success of this project will enable sustained funding to ensure that human centered design (HCD) principles and worker voice are central components of HWFCʻs grant-making strategy. This position can be performed remotely from anywhere in Hawaiʻi. Read more about this grant opportunity here.

Within the first month of hire, the Program Design Lead will have the opportunity to receive three weeks of training in HCD principles (live, remote training). Once trained, the Program Design Lead will serve as the coordinator and project lead for a cross-sector design team (think community based organizations, philanthropy, county and state employees in agencies charged with serving learners and workers, employers or other industry representatives) that will work together to implement the HCD workflow of “Discovering, Defining, Developing, and Delivering” to propose, fund, implement, and iterate innovative solutions for creating equitable access to quality jobs for all Hawaiʻi residents. Additionally, this position will support the Executive Director in administering grants, convening our philanthropic members, and sharing the impact of our work via social media, our website, in-person convenings, workshops, and panels.

If you get excited by the chance to create and test innovative solutions for creating equitable opportunity for Hawaiʻi learners and workers, have a curiosity for how human centered design can shape grantmaking, and are energized by the power of collaborative action, we would love to hear from you.

Note: Position is no longer open, as of 8/18/23

To apply, email a cover letter and resume to matt@hawaiiwork.org on or before 5:00 pm HST on Friday August 18, 2023. Submit Microsoft Word or PDF Files only (one combined PDF is preferred). In your email, use the subject line: HWFC Program Design Lead. If the Collaborative is interested in speaking with you, expect to be contacted within 30 days of submission.
